Description

Cape Reinga / New Zealand

I chose b&w cuz i want u to concentrate on the image and to feel the calmness in the purest version and that is only possible when I elimenate all sources of irritation - in this case the colors. Of course - colors would be great but they are just irritating for what i wanna achieve.

Question: Do u feel relaxed when u look at it?

hope u like it!!

Beautiful! (thumbup)

Excellent choice to go for bw!
Great mood!
Great tonalities!

Like the line from the road to that lighthouse and the extra element with the man walking towards it.

On the composition I'd suggest to crop slightly more from the right side to have the lighthouse slightly off-center IMO.

Excellent, classic shot. BW was indeed a good choice. Excellent composition and contrast. Nice work. +9

It has a calm and serene atmosphere with the gentle rolling hill the light house resides. The lighthouse is rather small in comparison to most lighthouses that are built, which adds to the calmness since larger ones have a more ominous height.

Beautiful black and white!.....Great mood!
The person is a great touch!
I just wonder how it would look if you flip it horizontally?

Beautiful. Works really well in b&w (nice tones and range), and the inclusion of the walker also works well. Personally, I'd have composed the whole shot more to the left (to include more of the road and less of the hillside--and to move the lighthouse off center). I'd also suggest using the healing/stamp tool to remove the dust spot in the sky (above and left of the lighthouse). Again, very nice shot.

Agree with trevorm:)
b/w works great here, and the sharpness as well
